Controllable rectification on the irreversible strain limit of 2G HTS coated conductors

Xiyang Su et al.

Summary: The study explores an engineering method based on precompression to improve the irreversible strain limit (ε(irr)) of superconducting CCs by pretensioning a stainless steel tape to control ε(irr) manually. The results show that the ε(irr) of YBCO CCs increased from 0.39% to 0.73% without increasing the thickness of the sample.

Key Issues for Measuring the Electromechanical Properties of 2G HTS Coated Conductors

Xiyang Su et al.

Summary: In this study, a new method is proposed to measure the critical current of high-temperature superconducting coated conductors without soldering voltage taps on the surface. The measurement results of the strain dependence of critical current and irreversible strain of the coated conductors are obtained.

Evolution of Superconducting Properties in Fe1.1Se0.8Te0.2 Films Before and After Structure Avalanche

Han-Fang Zhang et al.

Summary: By preparing high-quality Fe1.1Se0.8Te0.2 films on the CaF2 substrate via pulsed laser deposition, the study reveals the relationship between film thickness, structure evolution, and superconductivity. The thick films are found in a metastable state with a fragile balance between increased strain energy and large compressive stress, leading to a unique structure avalanche phenomenon. This research provides insights into the optimization of critical temperature in FeSeTe films and offers a method for fabricating free-standing single-phase FeSeTe crystals in the phase-separation regime.
