Biological age in healthy elderly predicts aging-related diseases including dementia

Julia W. Wu et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that accelerated biological age is a predictor of major age-related morbidity, including dementia, among healthy elderly individuals. Additionally, microRNAs were found to be significantly associated with age, with top differentially expressed microRNAs based on biological age having a higher significance level, suggesting that biological age captures aspects of aging signals at the epigenetic level.

European Stroke Organisation (ESO) guidelines on intravenous thrombolysis for acute ischaemic stroke

Eivind Berge et al.

Summary: Intravenous thrombolysis is the approved systemic reperfusion treatment for acute ischaemic stroke patients, with the ESO guidelines providing evidence-based recommendations. The guidelines highlight the importance of timely thrombolysis within 4.5 hours for improving functional outcomes, and recommend its use for specific patient subgroups such as those waking from sleep.
