Assessment of Extraction Methods of Trace Metallic Elements in Plants: Approval of a Common Method

Noomene Sleimi et al.

Summary: The issue of trace metal elements remains relevant and causes environmental problems. The choice of extraction methods has a significant impact on the levels of these elements in vegetal tissues. Our study demonstrates the importance of specific extraction procedures for different metals and shows variations in trace metal levels depending on the extraction techniques used.

Assessing of growth, antioxidant enzymes, and phytohormone regulation in Cucurbita pepo under cadmium stress

Oumayma Labidi et al.

Summary: The study revealed that cadmium had a significant impact on Cucurbita pepo plants, leading to a decrease in biomass production, higher accumulation of Cd2+ in roots, modulation of endogenous phytohormones, and decreased activity of antioxidant enzymes. Roots play a crucial role in regulating tolerance to trace elements in plants.

Barium effect on germination, plant growth, and antioxidant enzymes in Cucumis sativus L. plants

Noomene Sleimi et al.

Summary: Barium is a nonessential element that can cause deleterious effects in most organisms, affecting plant growth and homeostasis. This study evaluated the effects of Ba stress on Cucumis sativus L., showing that cucumber plants can enhance enzyme activity to counteract oxidative damage under Ba treatments.
