Dandelion-Like Bi2S3/rGO hierarchical microspheres as high-performance anodes for potassium-ion and half/full sodium-ion batteries

Summary: Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) are considered as attractive alternatives for next-generation battery systems due to their promising application potential, however, the design and application of bi-functional high-performance anode still remain a great challenge. In this study, dandelion-like Bi2S3/rGO hierarchical microspheres showed reversible capacity as anode material for PIBs and SIBs, demonstrating high performance even at high current densities. The results indicate that Bi2S3/rGO has application potential as a high-performance bi-functional anode for PIBs and SIBs.

Sb2S3-Bi2S3 microrods with the combined action of carbon encapsulation and rGO confinement for improving high cycle stability in sodium/potassium storage

Summary: In this study, Sb2S3-Bi2S3 microrods wrapped by carbon sheaths and attached into graphene sheets were successfully designed and constructed to maintain structural stability in sodium ion batteries. The dual structural protection of carbon and rGO encapsulations confined the material within electrochemical reactions to promote cycling performance. The obtained Sb2S3-Bi2S3@C@rGO composite exhibited promising long-term cyclic stability with a specific capacity of 460.5 mA h g(-1) after 1100 cycles at a current density of 8 A g(-1), demonstrating a combined reaction mechanism of conversion and alloying.
