Beyond skyrmions: Review and perspectives of alternative magnetic quasiparticles

Boerge Goebel et al.

Summary: Magnetic skyrmions have attracted significant research interest since their discovery a decade ago, due to their non-trivial real-space topology and potential technological applications. However, the utilization of skyrmions in spintronic devices has not been achieved yet, mainly because of shortcomings in their current-driven motion. Additionally, beyond skyrmions, there are emerging trends in the field of topological spin textures.

The Magnetic Properties of Fe/Cu Multilayered Nanowires: The Role of the Number of Fe Layers and Their Thickness

Sofia Caspani et al.

Summary: In this study, multi-segmented bilayered Fe/Cu nanowires were fabricated through electrodeposition in porous anodic alumina membranes, with micromagnetic simulations used to evaluate their magnetic properties. The number of Fe/Cu bilayers and the length of Fe segments were found to affect the magnetic properties of the nanostructures, with Fe segments of different lengths exhibiting different magnetic structures.

Temperature-modulated magnetic skyrmion phases and transformations analysis from first-order reversal curve study

Calvin Ching Ian Ang et al.

Summary: In this study, a temperature-modulated first-order reversal curve (FORC) technique was used to investigate the magnetic phase transition in a Pt/Co/Fe/Ir magnetic stack. By analyzing in situ magneto-optical Kerr imaging, a model describing the transition from isolated skyrmions to a skyrmion lattice phase was developed, allowing for a more intuitive analysis of magnetic skyrmions.
