Mathematical analysis of the photo-acoustic imaging modality using resonating dielectric nano-particles: The 2D TM-model

Ahcene Ghandriche et al.

Summary: The study focuses on using dielectric nano-particles as contrast agents in photoacoustic imaging, where information about tissue optical properties is extracted by measuring acoustic pressure. Two scenarios involving single nano-particles and nano-particle couples are described, with reconstruction of phaseless total field and tissue permittivity and conductivity. These results are achieved using frequencies close to resonances of the nano-particles, with approximations given in terms of their scales and contrasts. The findings are validated in the 2D TM model.

MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS OF THE ACOUSTIC IMAGING MODALITY USING BUBBLES AS CONTRAST AGENTS AT NEARLY RESONATING FREQUENCIES

Alexander Dabrowski et al.

Summary: The study analyzes the acoustic imaging modality using bubbles as contrast agents, highlighting the impact of the mass densities and bulk moduli of the bubbles on resonance. By collecting far-field data from the bubbles, the goal is to reconstruct the variable mass density and bulk modulus of the background in the target region.

ANALYSIS OF THE ACOUSTIC WAVES REFLECTED BY A CLUSTER OF SMALL HOLES IN THE TIME-DOMAIN AND THE EQUIVALENT MASS DENSITY

Mourad Sini et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the acoustic scattering problem by a cluster of small holes, deriving the asymptotic expansion of the scattered field. Under specific geometrical constraints, the scattered field is approximated by a linear combination of point-sources with weights determined by the capacitance of each hole. Numerical verification of the asymptotic expansions is carried out by comparing them with numerical solutions obtained through the finite element method.
