Covalent organic frameworks-derived hierarchically porous N-doped carbon for 2,4-dichlorophenol degradation by activated persulfate: The dual role of graphitic N

Qin Wen et al.

Summary: Hierarchically porous carbon catalysts with high N content and large surface area were prepared via self-templated carbonization of COFs for PS activation in degrading 2,4-DCP. The catalyst showed strong adsorption ability and enhanced PS activity, with the graphitic N functional groups acting as both activity sites and electron transfer access. Increasing the graphitic N contents promoted the activation process, particularly the non-radical pathway, potentially improving degradation efficiency.

Electrocatalytic degradation of diuron herbicide using three-dimensional carbon felt/β-PbO2 anode as a highly porous electrode: Influencing factors and degradation mechanisms

Alireza Rahmani et al.

Summary: The study compared the electrocatalytic degradation of diuron using porous CF/beta-PbO2 and planar G/beta-PbO2 anodes, finding that CF/beta-PbO2 achieved faster degradation and lower energy consumption under optimal conditions. Additionally, CF/beta-PbO2 exhibited greater stability, larger surface area, and higher oxygen evolution potential compared to G/beta-PbO2. The degradation pathways for diuron mainly targeted aromatic rings and various functional groups, such as carbonyl, dimethyl urea, and amide, through HO· radical attacks.
