Dynamic Reaction Mechanism of P-N-Switched H2-Sensing Performance on a Pt-Decorated TiO2 Surface

Xiaoyan Zhou et al.

Summary: Pt decoration on TiO2 nanoarray thin films enhances the H-2 sensing performance, with a switch observed from P-type to N-type response as Pt decoration increases. The response also depends on H-2 concentration, with resistance increasing at low concentrations and decreasing at concentrations higher than 40 ppm, attributed to competitive adsorption of H2 between Pt NPs and the TiO2 surface.

20-nm-Nanogap oxygen gas sensor with solution-processed cerium oxide

Trong Tue Phan et al.

Summary: Pt-based nanogap electrodes with a gap separation of 20 nm were prepared using electron-beam lithography, and combined with solution-processed cerium oxide to fabricate nanogap gas sensors. The sensors showed improved performance, including fast response time and operation at atmospheric pressure, attributed to the extremely small gap separation facilitating electron hopping conduction in the ceria film.
