Performance assessment of thermoelectric detector for heat flux measurement behind a reflected shock of low intensity

Mikhail A. Kotov et al.

Summary: The study evaluates the applicability of a manufactured thermoelectric sensor for measuring heat fluxes in shock tubes. Results show that the sensor has high speed (around 1 µs), a high signal-to-noise ratio, and a high electrical signal strength for measuring convective heat flux in shock tube experiments.

High-Temperature Ignition of Propane-Oxygen-Argon Mixtures in a Shock Tube at A Pressure of 30 Atm

P. V. Kozlov et al.

Summary: The ignition delay times of propane in propane-oxygen mixtures diluted with argon are measured behind the front of the reflected shock wave in a shock tube. The results show that the ignition delay time of propane increases with an increase in the excess fuel ratio phi in the studied temperature range. Comparing the obtained data with other measurements reveals that at low temperatures (T <= 1000 K), the dependence of the ignition delay time on phi is opposite.

Comparative Analysis of the Detonation Combustion of Kerosene and Gasoline Vapors in a Laval Nozzle

Yu. V. Tunik et al.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the possibility of stabilizing detonation combustion of kerosene and gasoline vapors in an axisymmetric convergent-divergent nozzle at an altitude of 16 km under atmospheric conditions. The results show that under specific conditions, thrust can be generated by initiating detonation through a central body.

Ignition of a Propane-Air Mixture for a Reflected Shock Wave at High Pressures

P. Kozlov et al.

Summary: Experimental data on ignition delay times in a stoichiometric propane-air mixture were obtained by conducting experiments in a shock tube. The data obtained were compared with results from other measurements and kinetic calculations.
