This paper updates the gamma dose given to RCQ using Geant4 simulations and compares it with three other gamma sources in Denmark. Experimental evidence shows that the luminescence response to (137)Cs irradiation is 4% higher than that resulting from (60)Co gamma irradiation for the same dose, confirming suggestions of Autzen et al. (2021) based on simulations.
Previous calculations of the. dose given to Riso Calibration Quartz (RCQ) were performed using mass absorption and mass attenuation coefficients. In this paper, we update the gamma dose given to RCQ using Geant4 simulations and provide a comparison with three other gamma sources in Denmark. We also show experimental evidence that the luminescence response to a(137)Cs. irradiation is 4% higher than that resulting from a(60)Co gamma irradiation for the same dose, confirming the suggestions of Autzen et al. (2021) based on simulations.
