Oxygen vacancies-modulated tungsten oxide anode for ultra-stable and fast aqueous aluminum-ion storage

Summary: In this study, a novel W18O49 anode with rich oxygen vacancies (W18O49-Ov) is proposed for rechargeable aqueous aluminum-ion batteries (RAABs). The oxygen vacancies are found to play an important role in modulating electronic state and bandgap, as well as providing active sites for Al3+ diffusion. Additionally, a 3D robust architecture of W18O49-Ov anode is constructed, leading to high performance of RAABs.

Bilateral growth of monoclinic WO3 and 2D Ti3C2Tx on 3D free-standing hollow graphene foam for all-solid-state supercapacitor

Summary: In this study, a 3D hollow graphene foam was prepared by a template assisted-chemical vapor deposition method, with interconnected monoclinic WO3 nanoparticles and 2D Ti3C2Tx sheets loaded on its inner and outer sides using electrodeposition and drop casting methods. The resulting electrode exhibited excellent specific capacitance, cycling stability, and energy density, making it a promising candidate for advanced supercapacitors. The asymmetric solid-state supercapacitor showed superior performance compared to symmetric supercapacitors based on MXene, with a wider potential range, high specific capacitance, energy density, and cycling stability over a large number of cycles.
