Digital twin of a combustion furnace operating in flameless conditions: reduced-order model development from CFD simulations

Gianmarco Aversano et al.

Summary: This paper presents the first digital twin for a furnace operating in flameless combustion conditions, using a methodology combining data compression and interpolation to develop reduced-order models. The models were able to reliably predict temperature, chemical species distribution, and specific quantities with prediction errors below 10%, demonstrating the effectiveness of the approach for combustion systems digital twinning and potential for soft sensor development.
