Preparation of Fe3O4@SW-MIL-101-NH2 for selective pre-concentration of chlorogenic acid metabolites in rat plasma, urine, and feces samples

Shi-Jun Yin et al.

Summary: An innovative sandwich-structural Fe-based metal-organic framework magnetic material (Fe3O4@SW-MIL-101-NH2) was fabricated and its characteristic properties were investigated. The material exhibited robust magnetic properties, high specific surface area, and good selective recognition ability for chlorogenic acid (CA) and its metabolites. The static adsorption experiment showed that the material had a high adsorption capacity for CA and its isomers, and a magnetic solid-phase extraction coupled with mass spectrometry technique was developed for the pre-concentration and identification of CA metabolites.

Rapid elimination of copper (II), nickel (II) and chromium (VI) ions from aqueous solutions by charcoal modified with phosphoric acid used as a green biosorbent

Fouad El Mansouri et al.

Summary: Activated carbon modified by phosphoric acid was used as a low-cost adsorbent for successfully removing Cu2+, Ni2+ and Cr6+ metal ions from contaminated water solutions. The adsorption process was characterized by a high adsorption capacity and was found to be optimized at pH=2, with the potential for further enhancement through adjustments in temperature, biomass amount, and initial concentration. This adsorption behavior was in agreement with Langmuir models, indicating a favorable, endothermic, and spontaneous phenomenon.

Morphological diversity effect of graphene quantum dot/MIL88A(Fe) composites on dye and pharmaceuticals (tetracycline and doxycycline) removal

Bahareh Rabeie et al.

Summary: In this study, composites with different morphologies (diamond-like, rod-like, and spindle-like) were synthesized using MIL88A (Fe) and graphene quantum dots (GQDs). The spindle-like GQDMIL88A composite showed the highest adsorption capacity for Acid Blue 92 (AB92) and doxycycline. The findings of this study indicated that all three types of GQDMIL88A composites are compatible with the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetics.

Ethylenediamine functionalized magnetic graphene oxide (Fe3O4@GO-EDA) as an efficient adsorbent in Arsenic(III) decontamination from aqueous solution

Azam Alsadat Tabatabaiee Bafrooee et al.

Summary: A magnetic graphene oxide nanocomposite functionalized with ethylenediamine (Fe3O4@GO-EDA) was synthesized and found to be an efficient nanoadsorbent for As(III) decontamination, with good adsorption capacity and recyclability. The presence of co-existing ions had some effect on arsenic removal, but the Fe3O4@GO-EDA nanocomposite still demonstrated high efficiency in removing As(III).
