Synthesis, dye adsorption, and fluorescence sensing of antibiotics of a zinc-based coordination polymer

Zhuo-Zhi Lai et al.

Summary: A zinc-based coordination polymer with good fluorescence quenching effect on antibiotics and metal ions, especially norfloxacin and Fe3+, was synthesized. It has a detection limit of 7.04 mu mol/L for norfloxacin and shows selective detection ability. Additionally, it also exhibits a good adsorption effect on methyl orange due to electrostatic interactions and different molecular sizes.
