Summary: A multicenter, retrospective study in Japan investigated subdural hematoma in infants and toddlers with head trauma. Abusive Head Trauma in Infants and Children in Japan

Masahiro Nonaka et al.

Summary: Subdural hematoma in infants in Japan can be caused by abuse, especially when associated with retinal hemorrhage and cerebral edema. However, there is a difference of opinion when there are no other significant physical findings. The age distribution of subdural hematomas in Japan differs from other countries, and further investigation is needed to understand the etiology.
