Isolation and Functional Analysis of Genes Involved in Polyacylated Anthocyanin Biosynthesis in Blue Senecio cruentus

Chenfei Lu et al.

Summary: By analyzing different colors of cineraria cultivars, it was determined that 3',7-polyacylated anthocyanin, cinerarin, is the main pigment that determines the blue color of cineraria flowers. Transcriptome sequencing and gene expression analysis identified several genes that may be involved in cinerarin biosynthesis.

Genome-wide analysis of the SCPL gene family in grape (Vitis vinifera L.)

Wang Xi-cheng et al.

Summary: A total of 59 putative SCPL proteins were identified from the grape genome, and a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis was conducted. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that VvSCPL proteins could be classified into three groups with high similarity in gene motifs. Most VvSCPL genes responded to drought and waterlogging stress treatments, indicating their crucial roles in abiotic stress responses.

Genome-wide analysis of the serine carboxypeptidase-like protein family in Triticum aestivum reveals TaSCPL184-6D is involved in abiotic stress response

Xiaomin Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, a total of 210 candidate genes encoding SCPL proteins were identified in wheat, which were classified into three subfamilies based on structural characteristics. Among these genes, 209 were unevenly distributed across 21 wheat chromosomes, with a significant proportion derived from duplication events. The analysis revealed the potential roles of TaSCPL genes in abiotic stress response, providing valuable resources for enhancing the resistance of wheat to adverse environments.
