Efficient Prediction of Supersonic Flowfield in an Isolator Based on Pressure Sequence

Chen Kong et al.

Summary: The prediction of flowfield evolution is crucial for the development of hypersonic technology. Flowfield prediction using deep learning techniques is a promising method to accurately predict future flowfield evolution. A multipath flowfield prediction model based on wall pressure sequence has been proposed and trained using experimental data. The model demonstrates good prediction performance in capturing the flowfield evolution even under intermittent shock train leading edge changes.

Analysis of spontaneous longitudinal combustion instability in an O2/CH4 single-injector rocket combustor

Kangkang Guo et al.

Summary: The study analyzed self-excited longitudinal combustion instabilities in a sub-scale combustor using O-2/CH4 propellant combination. Couplings between acoustics, hydrodynamics, and heat release were numerically investigated, with results showing good agreement with experimental data. Key factors sustaining combustion instabilities were identified, including obstructed inflow, coherent vortex structures in the mixing-shear layer, and a positive feedback closed-loop system involving periodic vortex shedding and merging.

Deep learning for reduced order modelling and efficient temporal evolution of fluid simulations

Pranshu Pant et al.

Summary: A novel deep learning framework, DL-ROM, is developed to create a neural network capable of non-linear projections to reduced order states, which efficiently predicts future time steps of a simulation using 3D Autoencoder and 3D U-Net-based architectures. The model can achieve significant computational savings without the need for ground truth supervision or iteratively solving expensive equations, while reducing computational run times of iterative solvers by nearly two orders of magnitude.

An efficient deep learning framework to reconstruct the flow field sequences of the supersonic cascade channel

Yunfei Li et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel data-driven method for reconstructing 2D pressure field slices using deep neural networks to monitor the flow state of a supersonic cascade. Numerical simulations are used to establish a database capturing the relationship between upstream and downstream flows, and the trained model is tested under different back pressures with good agreement to computational fluid dynamics. The method is especially significant for accurately identifying complex curved shock waves in 3D flow and monitoring stall of the flow field promptly.

Effect of pilot hydrogen on the formation of dynamic flame in an ethylene-fueled scramjet with a cavity

Wen Shi et al.

Summary: The study found that using pilot hydrogen can effectively suppress oscillations in internal flow and improve the stability of ethylene flame in a scramjet. The stability of the pure ethylene flame is poor without pilot hydrogen. Injection of pilot hydrogen ahead of the cavity is crucial for stabilizing the ethylene flame.
