Experimental demonstration of improved magnetorelaxometry imaging performance using optimized coil configurations

Peter Schier et al.

Summary: Magnetorelaxometry imaging is a promising experimental technique for noninvasive and highly specific reconstruction of magnetic nanoparticle distributions. This study demonstrates the technical feasibility and increased reconstruction accuracy of optimized coil configurations in magnetorelaxometry setups. By optimizing the coil positions and radii using system matrix condition numbers, the optimized coil configurations yield lower condition numbers and improved reconstruction results compared to regular coil grids. These findings provide proof of the practicality and efficacy of optimizing magnetorelaxometry imaging systems in an experimental setting, paving the way for potential clinical applications.

Quantification of Lipoprotein Uptake in Vivo Using Magnetic Particle Imaging and Spectroscopy

Staffan Hildebrand et al.

Summary: This study quantified in vivo uptake of dietary lipids by utilizing magnetic particle imaging (MPI) and magnetic particle spectroscopy (MPS) techniques. Loading artificial chylomicrons with iron oxide nanoparticles enabled rapid detection of lipid uptake, with potential for whole-animal scans. The focus on brown adipose tissue (BAT) highlighted its correlation with leanness and cardiometabolic health.
