Next-to-Next-to-Leading-Order QCD Prediction for the Photon-Pion Form Factor

Jing Gao et al.

Summary: We have completed the complete two-loop computation of the leading-twist contribution to the photon-pion transition form factor gamma gamma* -> pi(0) by applying the hard-collinear factorization theorem together with modern multiloop techniques. The predictions for the form factor show that the two-loop perturbative correction is numerically important, and our results will play a key role in distinguishing various models of the twist-two pion distribution amplitude at Belle II.

Science Requirements and Detector Concepts for the Electron-Ion Collider

R. Abdul Khalek et al.

Summary: This report describes the physics case, detector requirements, and evolving detector concepts for the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) experimental program. The EIC will be a new facility in the United States with the capability to collide high-energy electron beams with high-energy proton and ion beams, providing access to regions dominated by gluons. The use of polarized beams in the EIC will allow for unprecedented access to the spatial and spin structure of particles. The report aims to advance the physics program and develop detector concepts that meet the requirements for the EIC.

Higher-order kinematical effects in deeply virtual Compton scattering

Yuxun Guo et al.

Summary: The study shows that different choices of light-cone vectors and gauges lead to higher-order kinematic corrections in the deeply virtual Compton scattering cross-section formula. Systematic investigation of these light-cone dependencies at JLab 12 GeV and future EIC kinematics helps in extracting Compton form factors and understanding cross-section measurements with higher-twist precision.

Axial-vector contributions in two-photon reactions: Pion transition form factor and deeply-virtual Compton scattering at NNLO in QCD

V. M. Braun et al.

Summary: This study calculates the two-loop coefficient function for axial-vector contributions to two-photon processes and provides crucial data for the next-to-next-to-leading order calculation in perturbative QCD. The NNLO corrections are found to be significant and must be taken into consideration, as they determine the contribution of axial-vector generalized parton distributions to deeply virtual Compton scattering.
