A new plasma-based approach to hydrogen intercalation of graphene

Alexander Vodopyanov et al.

Summary: By optimizing inductively coupled plasma parameters, hydrogen intercalated graphene was converted into two-dimensional hydrocarbon graphane, with intermediate stages studied using Raman spectroscopy and AFM. Changes in Raman graphene fingerprints and resistance during hydrogen plasma treatment were analyzed, along with a detailed study of the Raman peak corresponding to hydrogenated graphene. The developed method is reliable and flexible for large-scale fabrication of graphane for hydrogen storage and 2D electronics applications.

Summary: The MA(2)Z(4) nanosheets exhibit superior stability, mechanical properties, electronic properties, and thermal conductivity. In particular, WSi2N4, CrSi2N4, and MoSi2N4 demonstrate the highest piezoelectric coefficients among all known 2D materials, highlighting their potential for applications in nanoelectronics, optoelectronics, energy storage/conversion, and thermal management systems.
