High-quantum efficiency of Au@LiNbO3 core-shell nano composite as a photodetector by two-step laser ablation in liquid

Marwa S. Alwazny et al.

Summary: In this study, hybrid and novel Au@LiNbO3 nanoparticles were prepared for the first time through laser ablation in liquid at different laser fluences. The structural and optical properties of the core-shell nanoparticles were investigated using various characterization techniques. The results showed that the synthesized Au@LiNbO3 nanoparticles were polycrystalline and the size of the core and shell depended on the laser fluence. The optical absorption spectrum exhibited a plasmon peak related to gold. Raman results confirmed the presence of active phonons. The current-voltage characteristics of the Au@LiNbO3/Si heterojunction were studied as a function of laser fluence, and the responsivity and detectivity of the fabricated photodetector were determined.

Pulse Laser Deposition of HfO2 Nanoporous-Like Structure, Physical Properties for Device Fabrication

Shams B. Ali et al.

Summary: The pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technology was used to create conductive nano and micro hafnium oxide with high purity and transparency. The fabricated Al/HfO2/p-Si Schottky barrier diode using nanostructured HfO2 films as an intermediate layer exhibited high transparency and a homogeneous nanostructure. The optical bandgap of the deposited HfO2 films was roughly 5.3 eV under optimal preparation conditions. The ideality factor of the fabricated diode decreased and the barrier height increased with increasing substrate temperature, with the diode manufactured at 600℃ having the highest ideality factor value of 3.2.
