Innovative thermo-responsive in-situ generated proppant: Laboratory tests and field application

Nanlin Zhang et al.

Summary: The study proposed a thermo-responsive in-situ generated proppant technology, which overcomes the technical bottleneck of hydraulic fracturing by mixing phase-transition fluid and non-phase-transition fluid to generate proppants. It shows relatively low viscosity, high conductivity, and requires less equipment, simplified treatment procedures compared to conventional techniques, reducing cost and time.

Effect of the variations of thermophysical properties of drilling fluids with temperature on wellbore temperature calculation during drilling

Zheng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of variations in density, thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity, and viscosity of drilling fluid with temperature on wellbore temperature calculation. Results suggest that viscosity has a significant effect on wellbore temperature calculation, while density and thermal conductivity have minimal effects, and specific heat capacity can be neglected. It is important to consider the thermophysical properties of drilling fluid that are sensitive to temperature variations in wellbore temperature distribution calculations.

Fracturing technology with carbon dioxide: A review

Li Nianyin et al.

Summary: CO2 fracturing technology, represented by carbon dioxide fracturing technology, has gained attention in unconventional oil and gas resources development due to its advantages such as low damage and easy flowback, especially suitable for complex rock strata. Research indicates that CO2 fracturing can stimulate unconventional reservoirs more effectively than traditional hydraulic fracturing, showing high technical feasibility and potential applications in reservoir stimulation and reconstruction in the future.
