Residual selectivity of some pesticides on the predatory bug, Orius minutus (Hemiptera: Anthochoridae)

Md Arefur Rahman et al.

Summary: The research found that spirotetramat and spiromesifen were the least toxic to Orius species, with minimal impact on their life history parameters. Additionally, the combination of spiromesifen and Orius minutus significantly reduced the population of Tetranychus urticae in a potted plant experiment. Therefore, it was concluded that spiromesifen is a selective acaricide with less negative effects on Orius species compared to other pesticides tested.

Summary: This study demonstrated the significant pro-angiogenic effects of Guanxinning Tablet (GXNT) and its major components, Sal B and FA, in enhancing vascular growth by regulating the expression of VEGF receptors and ligands. Further research is needed to explore the molecular interactions between these compounds and the key regulators in neovascularization.

Summary: This study evaluated the sublethal effects of Spiromesifen on the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, showing delayed effects on surviving flies, decreased morphometric measurements and protein contents of ovaries, as well as changes in cuticular hydrocarbons leading to altered sexual behavior. The findings provide new insights into the multiple effects and physiological consequences of disrupting lipid metabolism.

Dissipation kinetics and dietary risk assessment of spiromesifen on major summer vegetables using good agricultural practices

Jatiender Kumar Dubey et al.

Summary: The dissipation kinetics and dietary risk assessment of spiromesifen were studied on four summer vegetables. The residues of spiromesifen dissipated rapidly after spraying on the fruits, with suggested safe waiting periods varying slightly among different crops. The hazard quotient was found to be below 1, and the theoretical maximum dietary intake was lower than the maximum residue limit in all vegetable crops investigated.

Raissa Santana Serra et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the histopathological and cytological effects of the ingestion of spiromesifen on the midgut of A. mellifera workers. Results showed that spiromesifen caused negative impacts on the midgut of honeybees, including disorganization of the epithelial architecture, release of cell fragments, and accumulation of mitochondria.

Summary: The study found that spiromesifen exhibited insecticidal activity on D. melanogaster, prolonging the developmental periods of larvae and pupae while shortening the lifespan of exposed males. Additionally, pre-imaginal exposure to spiromesifen affected fatty acids and modified cuticular hydrocarbon profiles in exposed flies, impacting their sexual behavior and reproductive capacity.

Summary: DNA replication must be precisely controlled, and cell cycle transitions are regulated by the Cyclin-Dependent Kinases (CDKs) family. The Cyclin E/CDK2 complex controls cell cycle progression and DNA replication through phosphorylation of specific substrates in normal cycles, while its oncogenic activation causes replication stress and genomic instability.
