A novel non-enzymatic glucose sensor based on gold-nickel bimetallic nanoparticles doped aluminosilicate framework prepared from agro-waste material

Fatemeh Amiripour et al.

Summary: Functionalized porous nanomaterials have been used as novel substrates for constructing efficient catalysts in sensors. The sensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotube and NX material, with AuNi bimetallic nanoparticles obtained from agro-waste, demonstrated high sensitivity in detecting nanomolar concentration of glucose. The presence of NX in the sensor and the creation of abundant active sites through NX contributed to the success of non-enzymatic detection of glucose.

Spin Hall effect of transmitted light for graphene-silica aerogel photonic crystal in terahertz region

Peng Dong et al.

Summary: By introducing graphene monolayers into adjacent silica aerogel layers of photonic crystal, significant enhancement of the spin Hall effect for transmitted light in the terahertz region has been achieved. The spin shift is highly sensitive to the period number and Fermi energy of the graphene layers, and mainly determined by the phase of Fresnel transmission coefficients. Two different tuned regions have been revealed: a low frequency region with giant spin shift over broad angle and frequency ranges, and a high frequency region with gradually enhanced spin shift as the period number increases.
