Remote Temperature Sensor Based on Tamm Resonance

Zaky A. Zaky et al.

Summary: A highly-sensitive remote temperature sensor based on Tamm resonance using a one-dimensional photonic crystal has been proposed. The optimized structure achieves high sensitivity, high signal-to-noise ratio, and very low resolution, distinguishing it from previous works by the coupling between porous silicon photonic crystal properties and Tamm resonance.

Mid-infrared Biosensor Based on Bloch Surface Mode Excitation in Truncated One-Dimensional Ternary Photonic Crystal Under Kretschmann Configuration

Mahendra Kumar et al.

Summary: The theoretical investigation into mid-infrared sensitive biosensors constructed from truncated one-dimensional ternary photonic crystals on a prism base under Kretschmann configuration coupling showed control over resonance wavelength for Bloch surface modes excited by transverse magnetic polarized electromagnetic waves. The study used the transfer matrix method to compute band structures and reflection spectra and demonstrated that variations in design parameters such as thickness of the truncation layer and refractive index of the sensing medium can effectively control resonance wavelengths. The sensitivity of the sensor to changes in dc and dt values was found to be on the order of 10-3 magnitude.

High-Performance Temperature Sensor Based on One-dimensional Pyroelectric Photonic Crystals Comprising Tamm/Fano Resonances

Ashour M. Ahmed et al.

Summary: This research presents a high-performance temperature sensor based on a one-dimensional photonic crystal, utilizing the pyroelectric effect, Tamm plasmon resonance, and Fano resonance for sensing. By introducing a thin layer of gold and utilizing the unique thermal characteristics of LiNbO3, the sensor achieves temperature sensing through resonant mode position shifts. The optimized sensor demonstrates a higher sensitivity (3.035 nm/K) than previously reported data, achieved through numerical optimization of various parameters.
