Influence of nitrogen concentration on electrical, mechanical, and structural properties of tantalum nitride thin films prepared via DC magnetron sputtering

Davoud Dastan et al.

Summary: In this study, tantalum nitride thin films were grown on silicon wafers using DC magnetron sputtering, and the influence of nitrogen concentration on the properties of the films was investigated. The results showed that increasing nitrogen concentration led to larger crystallite size, increased surface roughness, and changes in hardness and conductivity. This research provides valuable insights into the control of conductivity and hardness in TaN thin films and their applications in semiconductor devices.

Ferroelectric properties of ZrO2 films deposited on ITO-coated glass

J. P. B. Silva et al.

Summary: This work investigates the ferroelectric characteristics of ZrO2 thin films grown on ITO-coated glass. It is found that the ferroelectric nature of the ZrO2 films is optimized through rapid thermal annealing at 600 degrees C. The increase in annealing temperature improves the ferroelectric properties by increasing the in-plane strain. The effect of electric field on the polarization switching kinetics of ZrO2 films is also studied.

Corrosion resistance and surface microstructure of Mg3N2/SS thin films by plasma focus instrument

Maryam Habibi et al.

Summary: Using a plasma focus instrument, Mg3N2 thin films were successfully synthesized on stainless steel substrates. The effect of angular position variation on the surface morphology and corrosion behavior of the films was investigated. The results showed that changing the angle affected the grain size, surface roughness, and corrosion resistance of the films. The sample deposited with 25 optimum shots and at 0 degrees angle exhibited the highest corrosion resistance.

Optical transitions and photocatalytic activity of NiSe films prepared by the chemical solution deposition method

Nader Ghobadi et al.

Summary: In this study, nanostructured NiSe thin films were prepared and their optical and structural properties were investigated. It was found that slight changes in pH can influence the optical bandgap and structure of NiSe films. The potential of these films as photocatalysts was also evaluated.

Advanced microstructure, morphology and CO gas sensor properties of Cu/Ni bilayers at nanoscale

Atefeh Ghaderi et al.

Summary: In this study, the morphology of synthesized Cu/Ni nanoparticles in the presence of carbon sources was investigated, and their gas sensing applications were studied. The surface morphology was analyzed using atomic force microscopy and fractal/multifractal analyses. The quality of the nanoparticles was confirmed using Rutherford backscattering spectra, and their gas sensing properties were studied using localized surface plasmon resonance method.

Effect of heat treatment on electrical and surface properties of tungsten oxide thin films grown by HFCVD technique

Guang-Lei Tan et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and electrical properties of tungsten oxide thin films deposited on stainless steel 316L substrate using the HFCVD system. Characterization tools such as XRD, SEM, AFM, and Raman spectroscopy were employed to study the structural, morphological, and surface properties of the films. Results show that increased substrate temperature leads to improved crystallinity, grain size, and reduced defects and electrical resistivity in the thin films. This study provides a convenient method for preparing tungsten thin films with potential applications in optoelectronic, photovoltaic, and energy storage devices.

The effect of thickness and film homogeneity on the optical and microstructures of the ZrO2 thin films prepared by electron beam evaporation method

Reza Shakoury et al.

Summary: The study found that ZrO2 coatings of different thicknesses exhibit differences in crystalline structure and surface morphology. Analysis using statistical parameters and fractal geometry revealed the impact of coating thickness and homogeneity on film morphology. Moreover, variations in morphology parameters were observed due to the electron beam evaporation method applied to samples of different thicknesses.
