Temperament-based treatment for young adults with eating disorders: acceptability and initial efficacy of an intensive, multi-family, parent-involved treatment

Stephanie Knatz Peck et al.

Summary: The study found that YA-TBT-S is a feasible and acceptable adjunctive treatment for young adults with a broad range of eating disorder diagnoses. Participants rated the treatment highly satisfactory, with over half showing improvement at the 12-month follow-up. Reductions in eating disorder symptoms, increase in BMI, and decrease in clinical impairment were reported by participants at the 12-month follow-up. Further evaluation of efficacy in larger samples and comparison to other treatment approaches is needed.
