Structure-Activity Relationship Analysis of Psychedelics in a Rat Model of Asthma Reveals the Anti-Inflammatory Pharmacophore

Thomas W. Flanagan et al.

Summary: The study suggests that specific structural features of psychedelic drugs may mediate functional selectivity underlying anti-inflammatory activity distinct from canonical signaling pathways. There is no correlation found between the ability of specific psychedelics to activate intracellular calcium mobilization and to prevent asthma symptoms or exhibit behavioral potencies.
