Improved resting state functional connectivity sensitivity and reproducibility using a multiband multi-echo acquisition

Alexander D. Cohen et al.

Summary: Recent advances in fMRI techniques, such as multiband (MB) imaging and multi-echo (ME) imaging, have shown that MBME technique exhibits higher RSFC performance and reproducibility compared to MB technique in resting state fMRI data.

The effects of multi-echo fMRI combination and rapid T2*-mapping on offline and real-time BOLD sensitivity

Stephan Heunis et al.

Summary: By comparing six different approaches derived from multi-echo data, it was found that the T2* FIT-weighted combination yielded the largest increase in temporal signal-to-noise ratio, showing promising utility for real-time and offline task-based fMRI analysis. Further work is advised to mitigate the decreased tSNR of the T2* FIT time series, recommending its use for continued exploration in fMRI studies.
