The COVID-19 Vaccination and Vaccine Inequity Worldwide: An Empirical Study Based on Global Data

Chuanlin Ning et al.

Summary: Vaccination is crucial for controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, but global vaccine inequity is a significant public health issue. Countries with higher Human Development Index (HDI) have better access to vaccines. The study shows that vaccination significantly reduces the pandemic, and achieving a 70% immunization coverage is essential. Addressing vaccine inequity requires cooperation among high-income countries, low- and middle-income countries, public health departments, and vaccine producers. The media should also contribute to raising public awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccination, and vaccine inequity.
