Absolute frequency of 87Sr at 1.8 x 10-16 uncertainty by reference to remote primary frequency standards

Nils Nemitz et al.

Summary: The optical lattice clock NICT-Sr1 calibrates the international timescale TAI and determines the absolute frequency of the Sr-87 clock transition to be 429 228 004 229 873.082 Hz, with a high level of precision approaching the systematic limits of the best realization of the SI second. This result is consistent with other recent measurements and is further supported by loop closure over the absolute frequencies of Sr-87, Yb-171, and direct optical measurements of their ratio.

Improved Limits for Violations of Local Position Invariance from Atomic Clock Comparisons

R. Lange et al.

Summary: A study compared two optical clocks based on Yb-171+ and measured the frequency ratio of their electric quadrupole and electric octupole transitions, finding improved accuracy. The study also analyzed potential violations of physical laws and improved limits on the temporal variations of fundamental constants and the proton-to-electron mass ratio.

Sensitivity to new physics of isotope-shift studies using the coronal lines of highly charged calcium ions

Nils-Holger Rehbehn et al.

Summary: Isotope-shift spectroscopy offers a promising approach to investigate new physics beyond the standard model, potentially revealing a fifth force in the nucleus. Experimental and theoretical studies on transitions in highly charged ions of calcium provide a sufficient basis for future high-precision measurements.
