ExoMol line lists - XLIV. Infrared and ultraviolet line list for silicon monoxide (28S16O)

Summary: A new silicon monoxide line list named SiOUVenIR covering infrared, visible, and ultraviolet regions has been introduced, which includes various electronic states and perturbations to accurately model the A(1) Pi band system. The line list was constructed by combining empirical and ab initio curves, and 2617 experimentally derived SiO energy levels were used to refine the ab initio curves. The SiOUVenIR line list is available for temperatures up to 10,000 K and for wavelengths longer than 140 nm, and can be accessed from www.exomol.com and the CDS database.

Hydrodynamic escape of mineral atmosphere from hot rocky exoplanet. I. Model description

Summary: Recent studies show that photo-evaporation plays a significant role in the mass and composition of close-in low-mass planets, but there is limited investigation on rocky vapor atmospheres. Hydrodynamic simulations reveal that most of the X-ray and UV energy from the host star is lost through radiative emission of coolant gas species like Na and Mg. This suggests that for hot rocky exoplanets, the cooling efficiency of the mineral atmosphere may not greatly impact planetary mass and composition.

Unveiling the planet population at birth

Alkali metals in white dwarf atmospheres as tracers of ancient planetary crusts

Analysis of lithophile and siderophile element abundances in planetary debris can help investigate planetary differentiation, although current studies lack clear tracers of planetary crusts. Detection of lithium in the atmospheres of certain white dwarfs indicates accretion of planetary crust fragments, with one system showing ongoing accretion from a circumstellar debris disk around a short-lived B-type star.

Bayesian constraints on the origin and geology of exoplanetary material using a population of externally polluted white dwarfs

Summary: White dwarfs accreting planetary bodies provide insight into the bulk composition of exoplanetary material. A Bayesian model is presented in this paper to explain abundances observed in the atmospheres of 202 DZ white dwarfs, attributing the majority of systems to the accretion of primitive material. Differentiation in Na abundances suggests a variety of radial origins for pollutant material in white dwarf atmospheres. The analysis also indicates ongoing accretion for an average of 11 Myrs in the studied systems.

Escaping Outflows from Disintegrating Exoplanets: Day-side versus Night-side Escape

Summary: Ultrahot disintegrating exoplanets have been detected with tails trailing behind and/or shooting ahead of them. These tails are believed to be made of dust formed by the supersonic escaping flow emanating from the permanent day side. The study investigates the possibility of escape flux being deflected away from the host star by the pressure gradient force, and demonstrates that night-side escape flux can occur, potentially trailing behind the planet in orbit by virtue of angular momentum conservation even without radiation pressure.
