Sustainable removal of Cr(VI) using graphene oxide-zinc oxide nanohybrid: Adsorption kinetics, isotherms and thermodynamics

Simranjeet Singh et al.

Summary: In this study, ZnO-GO nanohybrid was synthesized through a solvothermal process for the removal of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solutions. The nanocomposite showed excellent adsorption capacity for Cr(VI) at near-neutral pH levels, following Langmuir isotherm and pseudo 2nd order kinetics model.

Remediation of Chromium (VI) and Rhodamine 6G via Mixed Phase Nickel-Zinc Nanocomposite: Synthesis and Characterization

Sabeena Shoukat et al.

Summary: The Nickel-Zinc Nanocomposite was synthesized through a microemulsion method and its properties were analyzed using various methods including XRD, SEM, TEM, EDX and FTIR. The study focused on the sorption of Cr(VI) ions under different conditions and utilized mathematical modeling to explore the mechanism and thermodynamic behavior of the adsorption process. It was also found that NiZn-NC can enhance the degradation of Rhodamine 6G under simulated solar light.

Green Synthesis and Characterization of a ZnO-ZrO2 Heterojunction for Environmental and Biological Applications

Sirajul Haq et al.

Summary: The zinc oxide-zirconium dioxide heterojunction was prepared using rubber leaves as reducing and capping agents, and its structural and optical properties were studied. The photocatalytic potential and in vitro antioxidant activity of the heterojunction were found to be promising, demonstrating higher performance compared to a commercial ZnO nanopowder and ascorbic acid.

Activated Ailanthus altissima Sawdust as Adsorbent for Removal of Acid Yellow 29 from Wastewater: Kinetics Approach

Najeeb Ur Rahman et al.

Summary: The study showed that chemically activated Ailanthus altissima sawdust can be used as a suitable adsorbent for removing harmful substances, especially dyes, from polluted waters. The Freundlich model and pseudo second-order kinetic model were found to be the most suitable for calculating adsorption parameters.

Adsorption-Membrane Hybrid Approach for the Removal of Azithromycin from Water: An Attempt to Minimize Drug Resistance Problem

Muhammad Wahab et al.

Summary: In this study, activated carbon and magnetic activated carbon were used for the removal of antibiotic Azithromycin from aqueous solution. The optimal conditions and isothermal data indicated favorable adsorption of AZM on both adsorbents. When evaluating the effect of AC and MAC on membrane parameters, it was found that the surface area of AC was greater than MAC, resulting in higher percent retention of AZM for AC/UF, AC/NF, and AC/RO treatments.
