Rapid and Specific Fluorescence Method for the Quantification of Arbutin in Cosmetics

Summary: A rapid, sensitive, and inexpensive method for quantification of arbutin in cosmetic products was established using sodium hypochlorite oxidation. The method showed linear relation between fluorescence intensity and arbutin concentration, with good recovery rate, and was successfully applied in the analysis of marketed cosmetis containing arbutin.
