Reticulon-like properties of a plant virus-encoded movement protein

Ekaterina A. Lazareva et al.

Summary: The movement protein BMB2 from Hibiscus green spot virus induces constriction of ER tubules, increasing the permeability of PD and facilitating intercellular virus spread. These reticulon-like proteins are also found in other RNA viruses, suggesting a common mechanism for viral spread.
