Target Detection of Low-Altitude UAV Based on Improved YOLOv3 Network

Haiqing Zhai et al.

Summary: This study proposes a method for detecting low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) targets based on an improved YOLOv3 network. The method enhances the detection ability of small targets by adding multiscale prediction and controlling a pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) camera. Experimental results using real UAV datasets show that the method outperforms other methods in terms of mean average precision (mAP), AP50, AP75, and frame rate.
