Aperiodic perforated graphene in optical nanocavity absorbers

Samina Bidmeshkipour et al.

Summary: Aperiodic perforated graphene layers synthesized through oxygen plasma etching have been utilized in fabricating optical nanocavity absorbers with significantly improved absorption properties. The study reveals that the absorption performance of the nanocavity heavily relies on the electrical interaction between the nanopores of the perforated graphene layer and incident light. This graphene-based nanocavity resonator shows potential for designing highly efficient electromagnetic wave absorbers with effective optical absorption features in demanding two-dimensional coatings.

Strain effects on optical properties of linearly polarized resonant modes in the presence of monolayer graphene

A. Alidoust Ghatar et al.

Summary: In this paper, the transmission and reflection spectra of photonic resonators and surface plasmon resonances with strained graphene are numerically evaluated using the transfer matrix approach. The study proves that strain in graphene can modulate resonant modes and investigates its effects on surface plasmon resonances.

Environmentally Friendly Graphene Inks for Touch Screen Sensors

Sergey Tkachev et al.

Summary: An efficient and inexpensive method has been proposed to produce high-quality graphene dispersions for spray-coating flexible electrodes and assembling touch screen prototypes, overcoming environmental issues associated with hazardous solvents. The combination of liquid-phase exfoliation with shear-mixing and tip sonication techniques in cyrene produces high-concentration graphene inks. The resulting electrodes exhibit low sheet resistance, high optical transmittance, high signal-to-noise ratio, and multi-touch functionality, showcasing the potential integration of LPE-graphene in commercial flexible electronics.

Environmentally Friendly Graphene-Based Conductive Inks for Multitouch Capacitive Sensing Surfaces

Miguel Franco et al.

Summary: The capacitive multitouch sensing surface developed using conductive graphene nanoparticles-based ink with carboxymethyl cellulose as a binder meets the increasing demand for transparent, flexible, and easy printable materials for sensing applications. The characteristics of the printed lines are optimized based on the line width and number of printing steps, with the optimal conditions leading to an electrical resistance of 2.4 k omega. The printed flexible touchscreen, composed of 40 columns x 28 rows, also features an electric circuit and graphic interface for multitouch capabilities and fast signal processing.

All-Carbon Negative Differential Resistance Nanodevice Using a Single Flake of Nanoporous Graphene

Reza Rahighi et al.

Summary: The study involved the preparation and investigation of a temperature-induced degenerate p-type graphene nanopore/reduced graphene oxide (GNP/rGO) heterojunction-based nanodevice, exhibiting a robust negative differential resistance (NDR) feature. Cellulose-based perforated graphene foams (PGFs) containing numerous nanopores and showing essential p-type semiconducting characteristics were synthesized, with an observed stable and reversible NDR peak at high temperatures. The involvement of O-2 gas in the ambient environment in water-based degeneration of the initial p-type regions around the GNPs led to the appearance of an intensive quantum tunneling NDR peak.
