Switchable-hydrophilicity solvent-based liquid-phase microextraction in an on-line system: Cobalt determination in food and water samples

Summary: An on-line system using switchable-hydrophilicity solvent-based liquid-phase microextraction for the determination of cobalt in various samples is described in this work. The method is efficient with a detection limit of 0.8 μg L-1 and an enrichment factor of 41. It shows good precision and accuracy when tested with certified reference material. The system is presented as a green and accessible alternative for cobalt determination in analyzed samples.

Deep eutectic solvents in liquid-phase microextraction: Contribution to green chemistry

Summary: In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the search for green chemistry principles in analytical methods. Solvents play a crucial role in green analytical chemistry, and certain criteria must be met for a solvent to be considered green, including availability, low toxicity, biodegradability, and low cost. However, the availability of green solvents is currently limited. Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as a new and promising alternative to traditional solvents, attracting attention for their eco-friendly, inexpensive, and easily obtainable characteristics. This work provides a critical review of the use of DESs in liquid-phase microextraction (LPME) and their contributions to green chemistry.

Deep eutectic solvent-based ligandless ultrasound-assisted liquid-phase microextraction for extraction of cobalt ions from food samples prior to spectrophotometric determination

Summary: An innovative environmentally friendly deep eutectic solvent-based ligandless ultrasound-assisted liquid-phase microextraction method was introduced for the spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of cobalt. The method showed satisfactory detection limit, quantification limit, linear range, and precision under optimum conditions. It was successfully applied in various samples with high recovery values.

A novel direct-immersion single-drop microextraction combined with digital colorimetry applied to the determination of vanadium in water
