Resistance Training to Failure vs. Not to Failure: Acute and Delayed Markers of Mechanical, Neuromuscular, and Biochemical Fatigue

Jorge M. Gonzalez-Hernandez et al.

Summary: This study compared acute and delayed markers of mechanical, neuromuscular, and biochemical fatigue between resistance training sessions leading to failure or not. The nonfailure protocol was found to reduce peripheral fatigue and muscle damage, while central fatigue was not affected by the set configuration.
