Influence of shunt capacitance on impact load measurement of polyvinylidene fluoride sensor

Xing Huang et al.

Summary: Shunt capacitance plays a crucial role in the test circuit for charge mode, and its impact on polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) impact load measurement is worth discussing. This study conducts experiments by connecting different shunt capacitances and finds that the charge generated not only concentrates on the shunt capacitor, but also on the PVDF capacitor and extra capacitor, depending on the capacitance ratio. The extra capacitance is caused by the parasitic capacitance of the test circuit and the change in PVDF capacitance during impact load, and minimizing their influence is challenging. By analyzing the interference caused by the extra capacitance and comparing suitable measurement conditions, the research in this paper aims to improve the accuracy of PVDF impact load measurement.

Experimental investigations of direct measurement of borehole wall pressure under decoupling charge

Xin'ao Wei et al.

Summary: This study measured the borehole wall pressure (BWP) under decoupling charging using a concrete model. The experiment confirmed that decoupling blast loading is a quasi-dynamic process, and the peak value of BWP decreases as a power function with the increase of the distance from the explosive.

Experimental investigations on phenomenological constitutive model of closed-cell PVC foam considering the effects of density, strain rate and anisotropy

Yu Tang et al.

Summary: The uniaxial compressive mechanical properties of PVC foams considering the effects of density, strain rate, and anisotropy were investigated using quasistatic and dynamic experiments. The experiments were verified through a control group and the stress equilibrium of the specimen was examined using PVDF pressure sensors. The deformation and failure mechanism were analyzed using high-speed photography and SEM. An equation was proposed to predict the collapse stress of PVC foams, and a rigid-plastic hardening constitutive model was summarized to characterize their compressive mechanical properties.

Equivalent capacitor of polyvinylidene fluoride sensor and its influence on impact load measurement

Xing Huang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of the equivalent capacitor of PVDF on its electrical signal output characteristics under impact load, emphasizing the importance of considering the equivalent capacitor to avoid errors in measurement results. The research findings highlight that the concentration of charge on the equivalent capacitor can accurately reflect the applied impact load.
