Defect engineering of BCZT-based piezoelectric ceramics with high piezoelectric properties

Xinjian Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, the intrinsic conduction mechanism and optimal sintering atmosphere of (Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Zr0.1Ti0.9)O-3 (BCZT) ceramics were regulated by Mn-doping element. The undoped ceramics exhibited best electrical properties in O-2, while the Mn-doped ceramics sintered in N2 showed the highest insulation resistance and best piezoelectric properties.

Performance enhancement of the piezoelectric ceramics by alternating current polarizing

Jinpeng Ma et al.

Summary: The study found that the piezoelectric properties of PZT-5H ceramics significantly improve under alternating current polarization conditions, with the piezoelectric coefficient, free dielectric constant, and electromechanical coupling coefficient increasing by 10.7%, 15.9%, and 15.4% respectively. The alternating current polarization results in a high density of domain walls, greatly enhancing the performance of the piezoelectric material.

Domain structure evolution during alternating current poling and its influence on the piezoelectric properties in [001]-cut rhombohedral PIN-PMN-PT single crystals

A. D. Ushakov et al.

Summary: The extensively studied PMN-PT and PIN-PMN-PT crystals with compositions close to the morphotropic phase boundary have excellent piezoelectric characteristics. Recently developed alternating current treatment further enhances the piezoelectric performance. A study on [001]-oriented PIN-PMN-PT single crystals during alternating current poling revealed the importance of cross-like and lens-shaped domain structures in improving the piezoelectric properties. The interaction between these domain structures is proposed as a key mechanism for enhancing the piezoelectric performance.
