Amorphous Boron Nitride Memristive Device for High-Density Memory and Neuromorphic Computing Applications

Atul C. Khot et al.

Summary: This study explores the potential of amorphous boron nitride (a-BN) in multi-level resistive switching and synaptic learning applications. By fabricating a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS)-compatible device, it was found that the synthesized a-BN switching layer exhibits good performance, enabling bipolar resistive switching. Additionally, the device mimics Hebbian learning rules of synaptic plasticity and demonstrates high pattern accuracy in neural network simulations.
