Waste and natural fiber based automotive brake composite materials: Influence of slag and coir on tribological performance

R. Rajan et al.

Summary: The study found that as the slag waste content decreased and coir fiber content increased, the density, hardness, strength, etc. of the friction composite materials showed a decreasing trend, while porosity and compressibility showed an increasing trend. At the same time, the friction materials mixed in different combinations showed differences in friction, degradation, recovery, and wear performance.

Mechanical Properties of Polymer Composites Reinforced with Alkaline-Treated Natural Fibre

I. Paul Theophilus Rajakumar et al.

Summary: The mechanical characteristics of a high impact polyethylene composite reinforced with abaca fibre were studied. The study investigated the influence of different fibre loadings on tensile strength and Young's modulus. The results showed that a fibre loading of 55 percent significantly improved the mechanical properties compared to without fibre loading.

Influence of Mechanical Properties on Modal Analysis of Natural Fiber Reinforced Laminated Composite Trapezoidal Plates

D. R. Rajkumar et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the modal parameters of laminated composite plates made of natural fibers reinforced with unsaturated polyester resin. Different combinations of jute and ramie fibers were treated and analyzed for their physical, mechanical, and elastic properties. Using the obtained elastic properties, free undamped vibration analysis was conducted on trapezoidal plates with different boundary conditions to determine the natural frequency and mode shapes, which showed good agreement with existing literature.
