Clinical and Patient-Reported Outcomes From Patients With Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Across the World: Data From the Global Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)/Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) Registry

Zobair M. Younossi et al.

Summary: NAFLD patients from different countries experience a high comorbidity burden and impaired quality of life in real-world practices. Younger age, female gender, and nonhepatic comorbidities including fatigue are independent predictors of lower PRO scores. Poor Awareness of Liver Disease Among Adults With NAFLD in the United States

Saleh A. Alqahtani et al.

Summary: The study found that nearly 96% of adults with NAFLD in the United States were unaware they had liver disease, especially among young adults and non-Hispanic Blacks. Young adults and non-Hispanic Blacks had lower awareness of NAFLD, while diabetes, advanced fibrosis, and a higher number of health care visits were positively associated with awareness of liver disease. Efforts are needed to improve awareness of NAFLD.
