Developing a System of Indicators for Clustering Financial Cybercrime

Boris Sturc et al.

Summary: This study aims to propose a system of indicators for categorizing financial cybercrime. The study found a lack of taxonomic indicators for clustering financial cybercrimes, as well as wide differences in approaches to developing such indicators. The proposed indicator system aims to help create a unified, consistent, and comprehensive classification of cybercrime.

Performance of the single-event wind erosion evaluation program (SWEEP) model in assessing the impact of crop rotation, green manure, fertilizer, and tillage on wind erosion

Huawei Pi et al.

Summary: Agricultural land management strategies have a profound influence on soil properties and crop residue characteristics, but simulating soil loss remains challenging. This study tested the performance of SWEEP in simulating soil loss in the iPNW and found that tillage had a greater impact on soil properties and residue characteristics than other treatments. SWEEP performed well for crop rotation and fertilizer treatments, but over-estimated erosion for manure treatments.

Heavy metal(loid)s in farmland soils on the Karst Plateau, Southwest China: An integrated analysis of geochemical baselines, source apportionment, and associated health risk

Jialiang Han et al.

Summary: The farmland soils in the Karst Plateau area are highly vulnerable to heavy metal pollution, with notable accumulation of Pb, Sb, Zn, As, and Cd. The dominant sources of pollution were related to Pb-Zn activities, cement product activities, coal mining, and coal combustion. Arsenic, Cadmium, and Lead were identified as priority contaminants in the farmland soils, posing higher health risks to children.

Spatial heterogeneity of ecosystem services trade-offs among ecosystem service bundles in an alpine mountainous region: A case- study in the Qilian Mountains, Northwest China

Yanmin Teng et al.

Summary: This study assessed the trade-offs and influencing factors of ecosystem services (ES) in the Qilian Mountains, a mountainous region with diverse climate and topography. The results showed significant spatial heterogeneity in the eight key ES evaluated, which could be clustered into three bundles. Natural factors, such as vegetation coverage, elevation, precipitation, and slope, were found to be the main drivers of ES differentiation, while human factors had a relatively high influence on provisioning and cultural services in local areas.

Promoting agricultural innovation as a means of improving China's rural environment

Pingyang Liu et al.

Summary: Farmer-led agricultural innovation is seen as a potential approach to sustainable agriculture and rural revitalization, but research evaluating its environmental contribution is still scarce. Different forms of agricultural innovation have varying impacts on the environment, with vertical and horizontal integration innovations having more positive contributions.

Route Optimization of Container Ships Using Differential Evolution and Gray Wolf Optimization

Juhriyansyah Dalle et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the ship routing problem using a mathematical programming model, and optimize routes using meta-heuristic algorithms such as differential evolution and gray wolf optimization in MATLAB software. The results show that the proposed mathematical model and solution approaches can assist ship operators and terminal managers in making reasonable optimization decisions.

Aligning Inner Peripheries with rural development in Italy: Territorial evidence to support policy contextualization

Andrea De Toni et al.

Summary: Inner Peripheries are fragile territories in rural Europe, facing challenges such as depopulation and weak territorial cohesion, yet they are crucial for the provision of goods and services. These territories pose challenges for planning in the EU context, particularly regarding the implementation of the Rural Development Policy.
