Constructing 2D/2D N-ZnO/g-C3N4 S-scheme heterojunction: Efficient photocatalytic performance for norfloxacin degradation

Caijian Zhang et al.

Summary: The efficiency of g-C3N4 in the photodegradation of fluoroquinolones antibiotics was limited by the low separation efficiency of carriers, which was effectively improved by constructing a two-dimensional/two-dimensional heterojunction. The prepared 2D/2D N-ZnO/CN heterojunction composites showed excellent photocatalytic performance in degrading antibiotics, with active species dominated by holes and superoxide radicals. This work enriched the engineering of 2D/2D heterojunctions for g-C3N4, providing a new possibility for solving antibiotic pollution in the environment by combining 2D MOFs-derivatives with g-C3N4.

Nonmetal doped carbon nitride nanosheet as photocatalyst for degradation of 4, 5-dichloroguaiacol

Bo Wei et al.

Summary: Metal-free boron and phosphorus doped C2N layers were investigated as potential photocatalysts for the removal of 4, 5-dichloroguaiacol. The results showed that the band gap of B@N-doped C2N was reduced, leading to improved catalytic performance and adsorption properties. Additionally, degradation pathways and aquatic toxicity assessment of 4, 5-dichloroguaiacol were analyzed.

Vacancy engineering of the nickel-based catalysts for enhanced CO2 methanation

Minghui Zhu et al.

Summary: By engineering oxygen vacancies, the activity of nickel-based catalysts in CO2 methanation reaction is enhanced. The introduction of Y2O3 to CeO2 facilitates the generation of surface oxygen vacancies, promoting the direct dissociation of CO2 and improving the methanation activity. This vacancy engineering strategy may guide the rational design of heterogeneous catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation.
