Experimental investigation of high alcohol low viscous renewable fuel in DI diesel engine

Shuang Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the performance and emission characteristics of a Kirloskar single-cylinder direct injection diesel engine fueled with orange oil methyl ester (OME) as an alternative fuel, with the addition of oxygenated additives like ethanol and diethyl ether. The OME10DEE blend showed improved fuel properties and higher performance characteristics compared to diesel, with a significant reduction in HC, NOx, and smoke emissions. The study recommends the application of OME10DEE as a renewable and cleaner alternative fuel for diesel engines.

Impact of yttria stabilized zirconia coating on diesel engine performance and emission characteristics fuelled by lemon grass oil biofuel

Karthickeyan Viswanathan et al.

Summary: The study aims to improve efficiency and reduce harmful emissions from diesel engines by using lemongrass biofuel and coating the combustion unit with ceramic layer. This approach resulted in higher engine efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, and decreased emissions like smoke, HC, and CO, though NOx levels remained relatively unchanged.

Application of FTIR-ATR Spectrometry in Conjunction with Multivariate Regression Methods for Viscosity Prediction of Worn-Out Motor Oils

Marie Sejkorova et al.

Summary: Viscosity is a key factor in lubrication quality and is closely monitored by oil and engine manufacturers. The FTIR-PLS model offers a faster and more efficient method for determining viscosity of worn-out motor oils compared to standardized methods, with high accuracy and precision.

Thermogravimetric Analysis of Marine Gas Oil in Lubricating Oil

Suhyun Ahn et al.

Summary: This study investigated a method for determining the content of marine gas oil (MGO) in lubricating oil, finding that thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) can be used as a simple, reliable, and rapid method to analyze the contents of MGO in lubricant, with higher accuracy when the MGO content is between 0.5% and 15%.
