Combined electrochemical/surface and theoretical assessments of Rosa laevigata extract as an eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor for copper in acidic medium

Xin Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the inhibitive performance of Rosa laevigata extract (RLE) as an eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor for copper. The results show that RLE can achieve high corrosion inhibitive efficiency and remains effective within a certain temperature range. The adsorption of RLE on the copper surface follows the Langmuir adsorption model, indicating both chemisorption and physisorption.

Adsorption and anticorrosion mechanism of glucose-based functionalized carbon dots for copper in neutral solution

Shan Wan et al.

Summary: A glucose-based functionalized carbon dots (FCDs) was synthesized and found to be an effective corrosion inhibitor for copper in neutral solution, with an optimal corrosion inhibition efficiency exceeding 88% at 70 ppm. The protective performance of FCDs depends on the coverage of adsorption film on copper surface, and its adsorption follows Langmuir adsorption model. The study proposes the adsorption and anticorrosion mechanism of FCDs in neutral solution, providing theoretical guidance for the design and synthesis of nanomaterial corrosion inhibitors.
