Generation and Enhancement of Mechanical Squeezing in a Hybrid Cavity Magnomechanical System

Jing Cheng et al.

Summary: By optimizing the ratio of blue-detuned to red-detuned laser amplitude, strong mechanical squeezing can be achieved in a hybrid cavity magnomechanical system. The presence of two auxiliary cavities suppresses the effect of counter-rotating terms, allowing mechanical squeezing to break the 3 dB limit even with high dissipation rate of the magnon mode.

Quantum magnonics: When magnon spintronics meets quantum information science

H. Y. Yuan et al.

Summary: Spintronics and quantum information science are promising candidates for innovating information processing technologies. The combination of these two fields enables us to study quantum phenomena and realize multi-functional quantum tasks. Recent progress in coding and processing information using magnons, as well as advances in understanding the entanglement of quasi-particles and designing high-quality quantum platforms, provide physical platforms for integrating magnons with quantum systems. This has led to the emergence of the highly interdisciplinary field of quantum magnonics, which combines spintronics, quantum optics, and quantum information science.

Suppressing laser phase noise in an optomechanical system

Yexiong Zeng et al.

Summary: The scheme proposed in this study suppresses laser phase noise and enhances the optomechanical coupling without increasing single-photon coupling strength. Parametric amplification terms restrain laser phase noise and strengthen optomechanical coupling. Introducing a broadband-squeezed vacuum environment inhibits the increase of thermal noise.

Non-Hermitian shortcut to adiabaticity in Floquet cavity electromagnonics

Feng-Yang Zhang et al.

Summary: In this paper, a Floquet engineering strategy is proposed to achieve non-Hermitian shortcut to adiabaticity in cavity magnon-polaritons. The nonadiabatic loss is restrained, allowing fast population transfer from microwave photon to magnon. This model has potentially important applications in quantum information processing.

Enhanced entanglement and asymmetric EPR steering between magnons

Sha-Sha Zheng et al.

Summary: The study investigates the challenges in generating and manipulating strong entanglement and EPR steering in macroscopic systems, focusing on the entanglement and EPR steering between two macroscopic magnons in a hybrid ferrimagnet-light system. The results show that the presence of a cavity field can significantly enhance entanglement and lead to strong two-way asymmetric quantum steering between two magnons with equal dissipation.

Generation and transfer of squeezed states in a cavity magnomechanical system by two-tone microwave fields

Wei Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a scheme to generate squeezed states of magnon and phonon modes and demonstrates the transfer of squeezing between modes of distinct frequencies in a cavity magnomechanical system. By activating the magnetostrictive force in the ferrimagnet, driven magnon mode can be prepared in a squeezed state and transferred to the cavity mode. Parameters for achieving large squeezing of magnons and phonons in different regimes are given as the principal feature of this scheme, which could potentially extend to hybrid optical systems and facilitate strong mechanical squeezing in cavity magnomechanical systems.

Interferometric control of magnon-induced nearly perfect absorption in cavity magnonics

J. W. Rao et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a method to achieve single-beam perfect absorption in a cavity magnonic device, with interference effects controlled by adjusting the strength and direction of an external magnetic field. The interference also produces a level attraction-like hybridization, showing that such hybridization can be realized surprisingly in a coherently coupled system.

Dynamical Backaction Magnomechanics

C. A. Potts et al.

Summary: Dynamical backaction from radiation pressure in optomechanical systems can manipulate mechanical vibrations, such as cooling resonators, driving phonon lasing, generating entangled states, and observing the optical-spring effect. In some magnetic materials, magnon-induced dynamical backaction interacts with mechanical vibrations. These effects may play a crucial role in future experimental work.

Magnetic-field-engineered optical nonlinearity and optical high-order sideband

Jiahua Li et al.

Summary: The study investigates optical linear and nonlinear responses in a single quantum dot embedded in a single-mode cavity, finding that a magnetic field can drastically modify photon properties and enhance optical Kerr nonlinearity. This can provide a feasible way to efficiently generate optical high-order sidebands with small spacing and low input power, with potential applications in optical frequency combs, nonlinear optics, and high precision measurement.

Summary: The study proposes a quantum network consisting of magnonic and mechanical nodes connected by light. It demonstrates the transfer of magnonic states to and storage in distant mechanical resonators using optical pulses, as well as the preparation of magnonic and mechanical nodes in macroscopic entangled states. This work shows the potential to connect optomagnonics and optomechanics fields and build a long-distance quantum network based on magnonic and mechanical systems.

Domino cooling of a coupled mechanical-resonator chain via cold-damping feedback

Deng-Gao Lai et al.

Summary: The study introduces a domino-cooling method for simultaneous ground-state cooling of a coupled mechanical-resonator chain through an optomechanical cavity. Analytical results are obtained for the effective susceptibilities, noise spectra, final mean phonon numbers, and cooling rates of the mechanical resonators, including the optimal cooling condition. The research also explores a switch between symmetric and asymmetric ground-state cooling and simulates the performance of a chain of N mechanical resonators, demonstrating simultaneous cooling to their quantum ground states in the unresolved-sideband regime.

Summary: We theoretically studied the role of the exceptional point (EP) in a non-Hermitian cavity magnomechanical (CMM) system with a tunable dissipative magnon-photon coupling. Our results show that approaching the EP can lead to significant changes in the properties of photons and phonons, enabling various applications such as on-off optical transmission and enhanced mechanical cooling.

Measurement of the mechanical reservoir spectral density in an optomechanical system

Wen-Zhao Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a method to obtain key information about the reservoir spectral density of an optomechanical resonator without additional assumptions about the spectral shape. By detecting and analyzing the optical transmission rate of the emitted light, a simple relation between the output light spectrum and the reservoir spectral density is established in the weak optomechanical single-photon coupling regime, providing a straightforward and effective way for reconstructing the spectral density profile in single or even multiple decoherence channels.
