Electrochemiluminescence Sensor Based on N-Doped Carbon Quantum Dots for Determination of Ceftazidime in Real Samples

Hosein Afshary et al.

Summary: In this study, an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor based on nitrogen doped carbon quantum dots (N-CQDs) was synthesized and characterized. The sensor exhibited a stable and strong ECL signal in a potential sweep range of -0.5 to -2.2 V. The ECL intensity only decreased by less than 20% after 10 months of storage at 4 degrees C. The N-CQD sensor showed a linear ECL on-off response for ceftazidime in a concentration range from 1 x 10(-7) to 5 x 10(-4 )mol l(-1), with a detection limit of 2.3 x 10(-8 )mol l(-1). The sensor was demonstrated to be robustly applicable for analysis of ceftazidime in real samples such as human serum, bovine milk, and commercial milk powder.
